A delegation from Kuwait’s Humanitarian and Charitable Work Regulatory Committee, led by Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, visited Saudi Arabia under the directive of First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and Committee Chairman, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef.
The visit reflects Kuwait’s commitment to advancing its charity sector and fostering regional partnerships to elevate the efficiency and organization of humanitarian efforts in line with top international standards.
Dr. Al-Ajmi told KUNA that the delegation aimed to explore Saudi Arabia’s leading experiences, particularly those of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre and the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development. The team was briefed on Saudi Arabia’s integrated systems for governance, oversight, transparency, and international credibility in humanitarian and relief work.
The delegation also held meetings with senior Saudi officials to lay the foundation for active collaboration and exchange of expertise. Discussions focused on enhancing charitable and humanitarian operations, developing the non-profit sector, and building sustainable frameworks that empower public benefit associations and boost their developmental contributions.
Al-Ajmi highlighted the significant advancements in Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian sector as an inspiring model and noted Kuwait’s intent to adapt and apply this expertise in a way that aligns with its own charitable landscape. This effort aims to reinforce Kuwait’s leadership and lasting impact in humanitarian work, both regionally and internationally, and to build a joint Gulf model based on sustainability and reliability.
He emphasized that the visit is part of the Committee’s strategic steps, led by Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, to implement standards of transparency, improve performance efficiency, and ensure adherence to global regulations, thereby safeguarding Kuwait’s distinguished humanitarian standing.
Al-Ajmi expressed gratitude to the Saudi officials for their warm reception, hospitality, and support, and hoped the visit would pave the way for meaningful partnerships that serve humanitarian causes and enhance Gulf collaboration in this vital field.
