Kuwaiti Cultural Office in Cairo showcases students’ artistic talent

The Cultural Office of the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Cairo organized a vibrant art exhibition featuring the creative works of Kuwaiti students enrolled in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Egypt’s Helwan University. The event celebrated a range of artistic disciplines, including photography, weaving, printing, and drawing.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Dr. Khaled Al-Muharib, head of the Kuwaiti Cultural Office, expressed his deep appreciation for the students’ work, noting the impressive creativity and dedication reflected in each piece. He highlighted the exhibition as a platform that captured the artistic energy and national pride of the students, who conveyed their love and longing for Kuwait through their art.

Dr. Al-Muharib praised the academic environment at Helwan University, acknowledging the strong support and educational framework provided to the students.

He urged the participating students to share their creations with their homeland, enrich the cultural landscape of Kuwait, and continue contributing to the local art scene. He also extended gratitude to the Kuwaiti Embassy staff and university faculty for their continuous engagement and support.

Helwan University Vice President Dr. Hossam Al-Rifai echoed these sentiments, describing Helwan as the “University of Arts” and commending the students for their growth and achievements. “This exhibition shows how the university transforms art-loving students into accomplished creatives in a short time,” he said, applauding faculty efforts in cultivating artistic talent.

The Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dr. Ahmed Hatem, also praised the Kuwaiti students’ work, describing it as a testament to their sense of belonging and artistic discipline, which will stay with them long after graduation.

Dr. Maryam Mubarak, from the Drawing and Painting Department, emphasized the careful artistic processes behind the exhibits, from pencil sketches to detailed coloring techniques, aimed at capturing both beauty and realism.

Among the participants was second-year student Abdulaziz Al-Daihani, who showcased sculptures, ceramics, and watercolor works. He shared that his studies have deepened his understanding of art history and technique. Fellow second-year student Abdulaziz Al-Sawagh contributed pieces in printmaking, inspired by nature and decorative patterns.

Third-year student Afaf Al-Zaidi displayed paintings influenced by ancient Egyptian history and cultural motifs, while her classmate Ghadir Al-Azmi presented watercolor pieces reflecting both Kuwaiti and Egyptian heritage. Al-Azmi praised the strong artistic showing of the Kuwaiti students and expressed pride in the positive reception their work received from exhibition visitors.

This exhibition not only underscored the cultural bridge between Kuwait and Egypt but also highlighted the emerging generation of Kuwaiti artists poised to enrich their country’s creative future.
