Kuwaiti Army opens officer registration for women University graduates in landmark move

In a landmark move, the Kuwaiti General Staff has announced the opening of registration for the first-ever group of women to join the army as officer cadets. This unprecedented step marks the first time in the history of Ali Al-Sabah Military College that women will be allowed to enroll as officer trainees.
According to a statement issued today, registration will be conducted electronically via the Military College’s official website from June 15 until July 3, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Eligible applicants must hold a university degree that is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education, with a minimum grade of “Good.” Applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 30, while holders of postgraduate degrees may apply up to the age of 35.
The program includes one academic year of training at the Women’s Police Institute at the Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences, affiliated with the Ministry of Interior. Upon successful completion, graduates will be commissioned as lieutenants in the Kuwaiti Army.
The General Staff emphasized that acceptance will be based on interviews, medical exams, and testing, with final selections determined through a lottery system to ensure fairness and equal opportunity.
