Kuwait withdraws citizenship from a person

A decree was issued to withdraw Kuwaiti nationality from a person who had acquired through dependency.

This withdrawal is based on the fourth paragraph of Article 13 of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 on the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and its amending laws, which stipulate that nationality, may be withdrawn from a Kuwaiti who acquired it in application of the provisions of Articles 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 of the law.

The law clearly mandates that “if the supreme interest of the state or its external security so requires, and in this case Kuwaiti nationality may be withdrawn from anyone who had acquired it with him through dependency”.
