Kuwait wins four awards at Arab Radio and TV Festival in Tunisia

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Information won four awards at the 25th Arab Radio and Television Festival, which concluded Thursday evening in Tunisia.

Kuwait TV earned top honors in two major categories — “Kuwait Nights” won first prize in the variety and artistic evenings category, while “Linguistic Arts” claimed first place in the cultural programs category.

Additionally, Kuwait TV took home two second-place awards in the Television Exchange Competitions—one for the TV Program Exchange and another for the Comprehensive Program Exchange, reports Al-Rai daily.

Held under the theme “A Space for Convergence and Creativity,” the four-day festival included a technology exhibition and a media software market in Hammamet, with around 80 institutions participating. Professional seminars focused on Arab drama, artificial intelligence in media, and children’s programming.

The Palestinian cause featured prominently throughout the event, highlighting Arab media’s continued commitment to regional issues. Cooperation with China was also spotlighted, with around 100 Chinese audiovisual works screened as part of the Media City Program.

The opening ceremony took place at the Carthage Archaeological Theatre and was attended by dignitaries including Tunisia’s Minister of Culture Amina Srarfi and Arab States Broadcasting Union President Mohamed Al-Harthi. This year’s edition was chaired by Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Broadcasting and Television, adding a broader international dimension to the festival.
