Kuwait unveils Bayraktar TB2 drone in live demo; boosts military surveillance capabilities

The Kuwait Armed Forces launched the Bayraktar TB2 drone this morning at Salem Al-Sabah Air Base during a ceremony which was held under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali Al-Sabah.

The ceremony began with a detailed technical presentation highlighting the drone’s surveillance, reconnaissance, and air support capabilities, marking a major step in Kuwait’s defense modernization efforts.

Sheikh Abdullah stressed that the integration of drones reflects the leadership’s vision to enhance military readiness and adopt the latest global defense technologies, reports news agencies.

He emphasized the importance of investing in local expertise and training personnel to operate advanced systems, ensuring the protection of Kuwait’s airspace, borders, and strategic resources.

The event concluded with a live demonstration of the drone’s capabilities and a tour of the operational facilities. The Minister met with officers and technical teams, expressing his appreciation for their dedication.

Senior military leaders, including the Deputy Chief of Staff and Air Force commanders, welcomed Sheikh Abdullah upon his arrival.
