Kuwait, Türkiye mark six decades of friendship with Mural and Turkish Products Fair

The event, from November 21-23, features iconic landmarks from both the countries, including the famous Kuwaiti and Galata Towers, Hagia Sophia, Al Fatima Mosques, as well as the Water Towers and Bosporus Bridge.

H.E. Tuba Nur Sönmez, the Turkish Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, said the Friendship Mural and Turkish Products Fair stands as a symbol of unity, representing efforts to build bridges, foster understanding, and nurture the friendships that strengthen the fraternal bonds between Türkiye and Kuwait.

The Turkish Products Fair will be held from November 21-23 at Souq Al Mubarakiya and features stands showcasing Turkish products such as food, artwork, cultural materials, and service sector companies.

 

As part of the 60th anniversary celebrations of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Kuwait, the Turkish Embassy is hosting an opening ceremony for the Friendship Mural and Turkish Products Fair on November 21 at Souq Al Mubarakiya, in collaboration with the Voluntary Work Center.

In her inauguration speech, H.E. Tuba Nur Sönmez, the Turkish Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, emphasized that under the visionary leadership of His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the fraternal ties between Türkiye and Kuwait will be further strengthened, and cooperation between the two countries will reach new heights across all fields. She highlighted the solidarity and close collaboration demonstrated by both nations.

Ambassador Sönmez also mentioned previous events held by the Turkish Embassy to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Türkiye and Kuwait, including the opening of the Turkish book section at the National Library of Kuwait, a cultural tour to the Masjid of Badreya Al Naser, the inauguration of the exhibition titled “60 Years of Diplomatic Relations, Enduring Friendship Between Türkiye and Kuwait: Documents from Archives,” and the Turkish Classical Music Concert at the Yarmouk Cultural Center.

The mural features iconic landmarks from both Türkiye and Kuwait, including the famous Kuwaiti and Galata Towers, Hagia Sophia, Al Fatima Mosques, as well as the Water Towers and Bosporus Bridge.

Ambassador Sönmez noted that the mural “stands as a symbol of unity, representing efforts to build bridges, foster understanding, and nurture the friendships that strengthen the fraternal bonds between Türkiye and Kuwait.”

Following the opening ceremony of the friendship mural, guests attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Turkish Products Fair. It was announced that the fair will be held from November 21-23 at the entrance of Souq Al Mubarakiya. The fair features stands showcasing Turkish products such as food, artwork, cultural materials, and service sector companies.

On the occasion of the inauguration, the Turkish Embassy also opened the diplomatic archive exhibition in front of the Sheikh Mubarak Kiosk. The exhibition displayed selected documents from the Turkish State Archives, including press reports, diplomatic communications, and photographs, illustrating the deep-rooted ties and enduring friendship between Türkiye and Kuwait.

Ambassador Tuba Nur Sönmez was accompanied by His Excellency Sadiq Marafi, Assistant Minister for Europe Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Abdulrahman Alfarsi, Vice President of the Kuwait Voluntary Work Center; Mr. Khaled Almeer, Vice President of the Kuwait Voluntary Work Center; members of the diplomatic corps; cultural envoys; and high-ranking Kuwaiti officials.
