General Traffic Department cracks down on road recklessness

The General Traffic Department has intensified its field operations to monitor and arrest reckless drivers, demonstrating a firm commitment to public safety and enforcement of traffic regulations.

Recent campaigns conducted by the Security Control Department (Traffic Investigations) recorded 214 violations of traffic laws and referred 12 juveniles to the Public Prosecution for further action.

In addition to citations, the field campaigns resulted in the seizure of 21 vehicles and 11 motorcycles for violating traffic regulations. The campaigns also led to the referral of 10 individuals to precautionary detention and the seizure of a vehicle wanted for judicial detention, highlighting the department’s proactive approach in tackling serious offenses.

A Ministry of Interior spokesperson emphasized that these campaigns are part of the General Traffic Department’s ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and reduce reckless behavior that poses threats to both lives and property. Such measures underscore the authorities’ determination to maintain order on Kuwait’s roads.
