Kuwait to showcase Gulf women’s empowerment at UN event

Al-Enezi reveals, Kuwait has proposed an event at UN Women's Committee meetings in March 2025 to highlight Gulf's leadership in supporting and empowering women, focusing on achievements in technology and digital transformation.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, Iman Al-Enezi, revealed that Kuwait has presented a comprehensive vision to organize a side event at the United Nations Women’s Committee meetings in New York in March 2025.

The event will showcase the achievements of Gulf women, offering a unique opportunity to highlight the Gulf’s leadership in supporting women on both regional and international levels.

While chairing the second meeting of the Standing Committee for Women’s Affairs in the GCC countries in Manama last Monday, Al-Enezi, representing Kuwait, explained that the vision stems from the Gulf countries’ commitment to supporting and empowering women across various development sectors, particularly in modern technology and digital transformation. She emphasized that joint Gulf efforts play a key role in achieving the sustainable development goals.

Al-Enezi also expressed her gratitude to H. H. Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Women in Bahrain, for hosting the meeting and praised her pioneering efforts in supporting and empowering Gulf women.

The meeting included a thorough discussion of the event’s full vision and explored ways to strengthen joint efforts among member states to achieve further accomplishments that highlight the global status of Gulf women.
