Kuwait to host 3rd Gulf Housing Week themed ‘Real Estate Development for Sustainable Housing’

Kuwait is set to host the third edition of the Gulf Housing Week from May 18 to 22, under the theme “Real Estate Development for Sustainable Housing.” The event, organized by the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW), reflects the ongoing efforts of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to enhance regional cooperation, share expertise, and promote innovation in the housing sector.

Omar Al-Ruwaih, Deputy Director General for Public Relations and Development and official spokesperson for the PAHW, stated that the Gulf Housing Week aims to serve as a platform for discussing shared housing challenges, strengthening integration, and advancing sustainable and high-quality living environments across the region, reports Al-Jarida daily.

Al-Ruwaih highlighted that the event will feature a variety of activities, including:

  • A regional exhibition showcasing innovative housing solutions from participating countries.
  • A series of panel discussions exploring topics such as real estate development in Kuwait, public-private partnerships, and housing financing.

The second edition of the Gulf Housing Hackathon, with the participation of university students from GCC member states, aimed at generating innovative ideas for future housing.

Key milestones throughout the week include:

  • Sunday: The 47th meeting of the GCC Technical Committee on Housing Affairs.
  • Monday: The official launch of Gulf Housing Week and the opening of the exhibition.
  • Tuesday: The 26th meeting of senior GCC housing officials.
  • Thursday: The 23rd meeting of Their Excellencies and Highnesses, the Ministers responsible for housing affairs in GCC countries.

Throughout the week, experts and senior officials will engage in focused discussions on:

  • Sustainable housing strategies and financing models.
  • Use of smart technologies and applications in housing projects.
  • Housing challenges and solutions across the Gulf states.Al-Ruwaih emphasized that the event also aims to foster greater collaboration between public and private sectors in adopting forward-looking housing projects, while enhancing the overall quality of life and providing safe, integrated communities for GCC citizens.
