Kuwait to host 162nd ministerial meeting tomorrow in preparation for 45th Gulf Summit
Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, Abdullah Al-Yahya confirmed on Wednesday that the 45th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which will be hosted by Kuwait next Sunday, will cover several important topics, particularly political and economic matters.
Al-Yahya explained in a statement to KUNA that the summit agenda will also address strategic partnerships and cybersecurity, along with the completion of electrical and railway connections between GCC countries. He also noted that the 162nd session of the preparatory ministerial council will be held in Kuwait tomorrow, Thursday, featuring several activities.
Regarding upcoming summit, Al-Yahya added that the key events include the arrival of the GCC foreign ministers, followed by the consultative meeting of the Ministerial Council.
This will be followed by the start of the 162nd session of the Council, a visit to the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center to view the GCC Journey Exhibition, which highlights the Council’s achievements and key historical milestones, and concluding with the departure of the foreign ministers.
Al-Yahya stated that he was honored, in his capacity as an envoy of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad, may God protect him, to convey official invitations to the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to attend the summit.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, stated earlier today that the ministerial meeting will review reports related to the follow-up on the implementation of decisions from the 44th summit held in Doha.
The meeting will also discuss memoranda submitted by the ministerial and technical committees, the General Secretariat, and issues related to dialogue and strategic relations with countries and global blocs.
Furthermore, the meeting will also address the latest regional and international developments impacting the region.
