Kuwait, Tajikistan mark 30 years of strong ties and shared progress

Ambassador Sameeh Essa Johar Hayat, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs, highlighted the deep-rooted and strong relations between the two countries at a ceremony hosted by the Tajik Embassy in Kuwait to mark three decades of diplomatic ties since 1995.

Ambassador Sameeh Essa Johar Hayat noted that the official visit of H. E. the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, to Kuwait last November, and his meeting with His Highness the Amir of the country, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, marked a pivotal moment in the course of bilateral relations.

Mr. Ismatullo Nasredin, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, emphasized that Kuwait is one of Tajikistan’s reliable partners in the Middle East, while Tajikistan, in turn, has proven to be a dependable partner for Kuwait in Central Asia.

 

Ambassador Sameeh Essa Johar Hayat, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs, highlighted the deep-rooted brotherly ties between Kuwait and Tajikistan, praising their relations founded on mutual respect and fruitful cooperation.

He made the remarks during a ceremony hosted by the Tajik Embassy in Kuwait to mark thirty years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, established in 1995.

Since its inception, Kuwaiti-Tajik relations have been characterized by a spirit of mutual respect and, over the past three decades, have witnessed remarkable development that reflects the keenness of both countries to strengthen the bonds of friendship and promote mutual understanding in order to serve common interests and advance relations toward greater progress and prosperity,he said.

He noted that the official visit of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, to Kuwait last November, and his meeting with His Highness the Amir of the country, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, marked a pivotal moment in the course of bilateral relations. The visit resulted in broad consensus on regional and international issues, as well as the signing of several agreements and memorandums of understanding in key sectors.

Ambassador Hayat praised the cooperation between Kuwait and Tajikistan—and more broadly, between Kuwait and the Central Asian countries—reaffirming Kuwait’s firm commitment to strengthening bilateral partnerships, exploring promising opportunities, and implementing impactful joint projects in development and service sectors.

For his part, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Ismatullo Nasredin, expressed his pleasure in participating in the occasion, emphasizing that Tajik-Kuwaiti relations have witnessed continuous development over the past three decades within a framework of constructive cooperation and mutual respect.

He highlighted the civilizational and cultural ties that unite the two peoples, stressing that Kuwait is one of Tajikistan’s reliable partners in the Middle East, while Tajikistan, in turn, has proven to be a dependable partner of Kuwait in Central Asia.

He noted the successful path of political dialogue between the two countries and the growing cooperation in the fields of economy, development, investment, security, culture, and education. He also pointed out that high-level visits—most notably the visit of His Excellency President Emomali Rahmon to Kuwait—have contributed to opening new horizons for cooperation.

Nasredin also praised the prominent role played by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development in financing vital development projects in Tajikistan, particularly in the fields of infrastructure and social services.
