
Students from the Ministry of Education earned a silver medal and three bronze medals at the 10th Arab Chemistry Olympiad, held in Amman, Jordan, which is held from Aug 5 to Aug 9, 2025. Participating in the event are 11 Arab delegations.
The silver medal went to Ali Salem Behbehani, a 12th-grade student at the Joint Talent Academy. Bronze medals were awarded to Hala Abdullah Al-Rashidi, an 11th-grade student at Al-Rawda Secondary School (Talent Classes); Zahraa Mohammed Al-Haddad, a 10th-grade student at Toledo Secondary School; and Ibrahim Faisal Al-Rashidi, an 11th-grade student at Mohammed Mahmoud Najm Secondary School.
The Ministry commended educational advisors Saud Al-Shammari from the Ahmadi Educational District and Haifa Al-Adwani from the Capital Educational District for their significant role in training and preparing the students.
The Olympiad featured teams from Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Mauritania, Palestine, Yemen, Iraq, Morocco, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan, with each country represented by four students and two supervisors.
Organized under the auspices of participating countries’ education ministries and supervised by the Arab Chemical Union and the host country’s Chemical Society, the competition is one of the region’s most prominent scientific events for high school students.
The Ministry stressed that such achievements reflect the high academic standing of Kuwaiti students, reaffirm the country’s strong presence in regional and international scientific competitions, and align with its strategy to empower youth with modern sciences, promote innovation, and prepare a capable generation to serve Kuwait’s future.
