Kuwait strengthens drive to attract Japanese investments and expertise: Ambassador Al-Zamanan

Kuwaiti Ambassador to Japan Sami Al-Zamanan emphasized on Kuwait’s strong commitment to attracting investments and technical expertise from Japanese companies, saying these efforts will further strengthen bilateral economic relations between the two nations.

In a press statement marking a seminar organized by the Kuwaiti Embassy in Tokyo — in cooperation with the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) — Al-Zamanan said the embassy “always places itself at the service of the Japanese business community” seeking opportunities for economic and trade cooperation with Kuwait.

He praised the high standards and accumulated experience of Japanese companies, noting that Kuwait views Japan as a key partner in achieving its economic diversification goals, reports Al-Rai daily.

The embassy explained that the seminar was held under the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed between KDIPA and JETRO during the visit of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to Japan last May.

The event, attended by representatives from 20 leading Japanese corporations, aimed to showcase investment opportunities in Kuwait and explore new avenues of cooperation.

Presentations included insights from Mitsubishi Corporation on its long-standing operations in Kuwait, as well as a briefing by Citibank Japan highlighting its activities in the country and its perspective on Kuwait’s evolving economic landscape. KDIPA also delivered a detailed presentation on key investment prospects, particularly those aligned with Kuwait Vision 2035, covering sectors such as infrastructure development and economic diversification.

The embassy underscored that the symposium reflects the growing momentum in Kuwaiti-Japanese economic relations and reaffirms both nations’ shared commitment to expanding their strategic partnership in support of sustainable development and mutual prosperity.
