
Boursa Kuwait closed trading on Thursday with modest gains, as the general index rose by 7.09 points, or 0.08 percent, to reach 8,879 points. A total of 417.4 million shares were traded through 26,314 cash transactions, with a total value of 92.4 million dinars (approximately $282.7 million).
The Main Market Index recorded a stronger performance, climbing 75.30 points, or 0.91 percent, to 8,387.39 points. This came amid trading of 277.7 million shares via 15,058 transactions worth 37.9 million dinars (around $115.9 million).
In contrast, the Premier Market Index edged down by 7.05 points, or 0.07 percent, to close at 9,444.34 points, with 139.7 million shares traded through 11,256 transactions valued at 54.4 million dinars (approximately $166.4 million), reports Al-Rai daily.
Meanwhile, the Main 50 Index advanced by 81.09 points, or 0.89 percent, to reach 9,221.64 points, driven by trading of 237.7 million shares through 11,712 transactions worth 31.5 million dinars (about $96.3 million).
Among the top gainers were UPAC, Systems, Paper, and M Business, while Gulf T, Ajyal, Al Jazeera, and Petroleum were among the biggest decliners.
