Kuwait steps into the future with AI council to lead digital education era

The Abdullah Al Salem University has announced the launch of Kuwait’s Artificial Intelligence Council, a key initiative within the government’s work program aimed at strengthening the country’s position as a regional hub for advanced technologies and smart education.

The announcement was made during the university’s first summit, “Higher Education in the Age of Innovation,” under the patronage of Minister of Higher Education Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, according to Al-Jarida daily.

Dr. Al-Jalal emphasized the government’s commitment, under the leadership of His Highness the Amir and Crown Prince, to developing higher education in line with digital and AI advancements. He called for transforming the education system into a dynamic, tech-driven environment aligned with national goals.

University Chairperson Dr. Moudi Al-Hamoud highlighted the strategic importance of AI in reshaping education, building smart campuses, and bridging the gap between academic outcomes and labor market needs.

She stressed the importance of innovation, partnerships, and equipping faculty to meet evolving challenges such as cybersecurity, data privacy, and future job requirements.
The summit gathered local and international experts and was supported by institutions including the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, Kuwait University, and private sector partners like Boubyan Bank and Zain.
