The Kuwait Society for the Care of the Disabled has opened an art exhibition at the Avenues Gallery, featuring inspiring works created by members of the society with disabilities, highlighting their determination, creativity, and vision for life.
The exhibition, running until October 28, presents paintings that merge artistic skill with personal expression, demonstrating the talents and capabilities of participants who deserve recognition and support.
This initiative is part of a training program held for the fifth time under the auspices of Kuwait Finance House, in collaboration with the Kuwait Art Studio, reflecting ongoing efforts to promote social responsibility and community engagement.
During the opening ceremony, Chairwoman Sabeeka Saqr Al-Jasser praised the participation of 12 students whose artworks convey strength, creativity, and hope, emphasizing the association’s commitment to encouraging people with disabilities to innovate and excel.
Visual artist Dr. Jawaher Al-Badr, the training supervisor, noted that the exhibition began with the principle that “disability is not an obstacle”, and highlighted how art serves as a powerful means of self-expression, communication, and emotional exploration.
She explained that each painting carries a unique imprint of the artist, giving voice to their feelings and personal vision, thereby fostering greater community inclusion and understanding.
The participants displayed remarkable enthusiasm and sensitivity during their workshop, producing interactive artworks that reflect their inner emotions, journey toward self-expression, and desire to communicate with society.
Dr. Al-Badr concluded by thanking everyone who supported the workshop and exhibition, underlining that the event is not only a display of artistic skill but also a celebration of human resilience, creativity, and the potential of people with disabilities.
