The Central Administration of Civil Aviation in Kuwait took a significant step to bolster the aviation infrastructure by signing an agreement with Dar Al-Handasah Design and Technical Consultation Company.

This agreement spans five years, with a design phase of one and a half years followed by three and a half years of supervision during construction and implementation. This development was reported in the Al Qabas newspaper.

The agreement includes the development of the main corridor and its accompanying corridors to a length of 4,300 meters, in accordance with ICAO Code 4F standards, along with a CAT III B precision landing system.

Additionally, it involves the construction and finishing of a new cargo platform covering an area of 1.5 square kilometers. This platform is designed to accommodate 77 aircraft positions to meet future logistical demands.

Furthermore, the agreement encompasses the creation of a new platform specifically designated for high-ranking figures (princely), providing aircraft parking and an engine preparation corridor to receive distinguished guests.

Finally, the development of the airport’s supporting infrastructure aims to increase capacity and meet expected future needs, including transportation services and public facilities.

These steps reflect Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening its position as a leading regional aviation hub. The modernization and expansion of its main airport infrastructure will enable Kuwait to meet the growing demand in the future.

The project comprises four main components:

  1. Developing the main corridor and its accompanying corridors.
  2. Establishing a new charging station.
  3. Constructing a platform dedicated to high-level (princely) figures.
  4. Developing the infrastructure supporting the airport.
