Kuwait set to ink landmark rail project linking to Saudi Arabia

Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan will sign the contract for the study, detailed design, and preparation of tender documents for the first phase of the railway project linking the two countries.

The railway project aims to boost Kuwait’s transportation network by linking it with Saudi Arabia, facilitating the movement of people and goods, and supporting sustainable development goals and the “New Kuwait 2035” vision.

Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works, will sign on Monday the contract for the study, detailed design, and tender document preparation for the first phase of the railway project linking Kuwait with Saudi Arabia, under the Public Authority for Roads & Transportation, reported Al Jarida.

The project aims to enhance Kuwait’s transportation system through a railway connection with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, contributing to the smooth movement of people and goods, while supporting sustainable development goals and the New Kuwait 2035 vision.

The contract is expected to cover the preparation of technical studies, detailed designs, and implementation plans, as well as the development of tender documents for the project’s first phase—marking a major step towardsestablishing the infrastructure for Kuwait’s strategic railway project.
