Kuwait revokes citizenship of 11 individuals for various reasons

During a session chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Al-Sabah, the Council of Ministers deliberated on a decision made by the Supreme Committee for the Investigation of Kuwaiti Nationality.

A government source revealed that the committee recommended the revocation of Kuwaiti citizenship from 11 individuals — comprising 3 men and 8 women — citing various reasons.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Acting Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, who also heads the Supreme Committee, presented an explanation during the meeting.

He detailed the committee’s findings, which include instances of citizenship obtained through fraudulent means, false statements, or incorrect certificates, as well as cases involving dependency acquisition. Additionally, citizenship was revoked from individuals with final rulings against them, in accordance with the Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments.
