Kuwait reports 1,770 traffic accidents, 20,352 violations

While 276 accidents resulted in injuries to vehicle drivers, 1,494 accidents did not cause any injuries during the period from March 15-22

During the period from March 15 to 22, the General Traffic Department responded to 1,770 traffic accidents. Out of these, 276 accidents resulted in injuries to vehicle drivers, while 1,494 accidents did not cause any injuries.

The statistics revealed that the weekly campaigns conducted during the same period, under the supervision of Sector Undersecretary Major General Yousef Al-Khadda, led to the apprehension of 55 violators for serious violations. These individuals were detained by traffic police and subsequently released after receiving reports.

Additionally, 14 juveniles were arrested for driving their parents’ vehicles without a license and were referred to juvenile prosecution.

The statistics indicated that during the same period, 20,352 different traffic violations were issued, and 138 vehicles and bicycles were sent to the vehicle impoundment garage due to various violations, notably security, safety, and shading requirement violations. Additionally, 22 wanted individuals were apprehended during the campaigns and were handed over to the relevant authorities.
