Kuwait repels missile and drone attacks as regional leaders rally in support

Kuwait reinforced its defensive readiness on the third day of the war as Arab and international solidarity continued to pour in, while national security forces successfully countered hostile Iranian attacks targeting the country’s airspace.
The Kuwaiti Armed Forces intercepted a number of ballistic missiles and drones launched toward the country, demonstrating high operational efficiency and preparedness in safeguarding national sovereignty.
His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, received telephone calls from several regional and international leaders expressing solidarity with Kuwait and condemning the Iranian attack.
Among those who contacted His Highness were UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, and Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The leaders affirmed their support for Kuwait and for all measures taken to preserve its security and territorial integrity.
His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah also received similar calls from officials and leaders who strongly condemned what they described as a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, airspace, international law, and the United Nations Charter.
The Ministry of Defense official spokesman, Colonel Saud Al-Atwan, confirmed that Kuwaiti air defense systems intercepted several hostile aerial targets within the central operational zone on Monday morning without any casualties.
Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Mansouri, Director of the General Directorate of Civil Defense, added that most drones approaching via maritime routes near the areas of Rumaithiya and Salwa were successfully neutralized, stressing that the security situation remains stable.
Meanwhile, the US Central Command announced that three US F-15E “Strike Eagle” fighter jets operating in support of Operation “Epic Fury” over Kuwait were accidentally shot down in a likely friendly-fire incident during active combat operations. All six crew members safely ejected and were rescued without injuries.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef affirmed the full readiness of the military and security authorities — including the army, police, National Guard, and General Fire Force — to confront any aggression threatening the country’s safety.
He stressed that all state institutions continue to operate normally and provide services around the clock, calling on citizens and residents to remain calm and avoid panic.
Al-Yousef also urged the public not to circulate rumors or unverified information related to ongoing regional developments, warning that spreading false or misleading news that causes public anxiety would result in legal accountability.
He emphasized that any attempts to spread fear or exploit the current circumstances would be dealt with firmly in accordance with the law.
Meanwhile, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard claimed responsibility for targeting the Arifjan base in Kuwait using 12 drones, while local authorities confirmed that defensive systems successfully addressed incoming threats.
