Kuwait Red Crescent Society works to achieve excellence in humanitarian work

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Ambassador Khaled Al-Mughamis, stressed the importance of the society achieving effective contribution and qualitative excellence in humanitarian and relief work at all local and international levels.

Ambassador Al-Mughamis said in a press statement after his meeting with employees and volunteers that the Kuwait Red Crescent Society is a prominent mark in the arenas of humanitarian giving, thanks to its rapid field movements in various regions, which fall under part of the humanitarian duty expressed by the official position of Kuwait.

He added that the society will continue its giving to serve humanitarian work and seek continuous development to achieve excellence and leadership at all levels, praising the efforts of the first founders of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society since 1966 and continuing this approach.

Ambassador Al-Mughamis stated that the society added a humanitarian touch, which prompted it to work and persevere to occupy the advanced ranks, thus playing the role of “humanitarian diplomacy” as a value system that is added to the soft power of the State of Kuwait and raises its reputation.

He stressed that choosing Kuwait as a center for humanitarian work did not come out of nowhere, but rather in recognition and appreciation by the United Nations for the role of the State of Kuwait, government and people, in standing by the peoples of the world and trying to alleviate their suffering over the past many years.

He said that it is important for the Red Crescent to have clear and distinct fingerprints in the humanitarian efforts it provides to those affected by natural or man-made disasters with the support of the political leadership headed by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect him and preserve him, and the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Sabah, may God protect him, and the Kuwaiti government and people.

He added that the meeting aims to open a channel of communication between the members of the Board of Directors and employees within the open door policy so that the employee is a basic partner in making decisions related to the association.

Ambassador Al-Maghmas indicated that the mechanism of work in the association was discussed and ways to develop the performance of employees in terms of training and preparing qualified cadres and setting the necessary plans to include them in future development plans and capacity building.

He called on everyone to help advance the association to the best and provide everything that is useful to develop it and achieve its humanitarian goals and show the association in the manner that befits it.
