Kuwait reaffirms commitment to government excellence through Arab Award initiative

The Civil Service Commission has emphasized Kuwait’s firm belief in the importance of excellence as a catalyst for enhancing government performance, elevating service efficiency, and embedding quality principles across state institutions.
This reaffirmation came as Kuwait, through the Diwan, hosted the introductory workshop for the 4th edition of the Arab Government Excellence Award, a joint initiative between the League of Arab States and the UAE government, under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Mohammed Al-Ahmad, Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative Development, said the award encourages leadership and innovation in Arab government institutions and celebrates outstanding institutional and individual practices. Kuwait’s involvement, he noted, reflects its aspiration to achieve leaps in institutional development that benefit citizens and improve the country’s readiness for future challenges.
Fahad Al-Suwaidi, Advisor to the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program, highlighted the award’s role in spreading institutional excellence across the Arab world, fostering positive leadership mindsets and providing a regional platform for sharing best practices and government innovations.
He noted the growing participation of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which are often recognized for pioneering public sector initiatives, and stressed the award’s vision of empowering Arab governments to enhance their global competitiveness.
The Arab Government Excellence Award not only serves as a recognition platform but also functions as a tool for collaborative development, aiming to improve citizens’ quality of life, boost performance in public institutions, and strengthen Arab unity through knowledge exchange.
The award culminates in a prestigious ceremony held at the League of Arab States, celebrating high-impact government efforts that contribute to strategic transformation and innovation across the Arab region.
