Kuwait reactivates TIR agreement to boost trade, facilitate cross-border transport

The General Administration of Customs has reactivated the TIR (Terrestrial Inland Remittances) agreement to enhance trade flow, simplify transit procedures, and ease the movement of goods, trucks, and drivers across Kuwait’s land borders.
In a press statement, the Administration said the move was made under the directives of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, reflecting Kuwait’s commitment to international standards in land transport and support national economic objectives and customs service development, reports Al-Rai daily.
The reactivation followed coordinated efforts with the International Road Transport Union and customs authorities in Iraq and Turkey to ensure smoother cross-border transit operations.
