Kuwait prepares fourth national report on economic, social, and cultural rights

The National Standing Committee for the preparation of reports and follow-up on recommendations related to human rights held a meeting today to coordinate the preparation of Kuwait’s fourth national report under the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights.
Ambassador H.E. Sheikha Jawaher Ibrahim Al-Duaij Al-Sabah, Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights, said the meeting was chaired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and included representatives from most relevant state institutions.
The discussions focused on the plan for compiling the report and responding to international recommendations related to economic, social, and cultural rights, reports Al-Rai daily.
Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher also noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, will organize a training course next February.
The course will bring together relevant stakeholders to ensure that national development efforts are aligned with international recommendations.
Kuwait is scheduled to present its fourth report to the United Nations in Geneva next October, reflecting the country’s ongoing commitment to monitoring, reporting, and improving human rights practices in accordance with global standards.
