Kuwait partners with Google Cloud to launch ‘Cyber Shield’ initiative

In this context, Al-Rai newspaper has learned that the government is advancing efforts to enhance electronic security across various ministries, government bodies, and institutions through a contract for the “Cyber Shield” with Google Cloud.
The Central Agency for Information Technology has reached out to government agencies to gauge their interest in utilizing the services offered under the government’s ‘Cyber Shield’ contract with Google Cloud. This initiative has been well-received by authorities responsible for information systems across different ministries and institutions.
Sources indicated that the agency held several meetings with information systems specialists from government agencies to address inquiries related to the “Cyber Shield” contract and its services, ensuring there is no conflict with existing or proposed cybersecurity tenders within those entities.
Sources indicated that the “Government Cyber Shield” will offer an advanced platform for detecting cyber threats, analyzing big data, and providing real-time updates on any threats or suspicious activities across all networks.
They added that other Cyber Shield services include identifying types of malware, malicious content, and any files that may pose risks to the data of the entities.
