Kuwait partners with Google Cloud to launch ‘Cyber Shield’ initiative

The government is enhancing cyber resilience and safeguarding data through advanced measures and strategic partnerships with leading global technology companies across its ministries and institutions.

The ‘Cyber Shield’ initiative will offer an advanced platform for detecting cyber threats, analyzing big data, and providing real-time updates on any threats or suspicious activities across all networks.

Cyber Shield services include identifying types of malware, malicious content, and any files that may pose risks to the data of the entities.

 

As cyber threats intensify and hacking technologies grow more sophisticated, enhancing electronic security has become a critical priority. In response, the government is committed to implementing advanced measures to safeguard its data and systems, boosting its cyber resilience through strategic partnerships with leading global technology companies.

In this context, Al-Rai newspaper has learned that the government is advancing efforts to enhance electronic security across various ministries, government bodies, and institutions through a contract for the “Cyber Shield” with Google Cloud.

The Central Agency for Information Technology has reached out to government agencies to gauge their interest in utilizing the services offered under the government’s Cyber Shield contract with Google Cloud. This initiative has been well-received by authorities responsible for information systems across different ministries and institutions.

Sources indicated that the agency held several meetings with information systems specialists from government agencies to address inquiries related to the “Cyber Shield” contract and its services, ensuring there is no conflict with existing or proposed cybersecurity tenders within those entities.

Sources indicated that the “Government Cyber Shield” will offer an advanced platform for detecting cyber threats, analyzing big data, and providing real-time updates on any threats or suspicious activities across all networks.

They added that other Cyber Shield services include identifying types of malware, malicious content, and any files that may pose risks to the data of the entities.
