Kuwait parliament speaker inaugurates oath-taking session

National Assembly Speaker Ahmad Al-Saadoun inaugurated early on Monday the scheduled special session for the swearing in ceremony by His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, who doubles as the Prime Minister, along with his cabinet ministers.

The session kicks starts with recitation of the Amiri Orders and Decrees concerning the formation of the government according to Provision 68 of the National assembly’s bylaw.

The session will proceed with the oath-taking ceremony by ministers who are not members of the parliament, as the Constitution Article 91 states.

The ministers’ swearing in will be followed with His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem (also the premier), taking the oath in line with the Provision 63 of the Constitution.

The parliament speaker, on Wednesday, called for holding the special session, in response to a government’s request. (KUNA)
