Kuwait Municipality reopens cleaning tenders to Gulf and local firms
The municipality is awaiting Ministry of Finance approval for the new contracts’ budget, while MeshaalAl-Azmi monitors daily performance of cleaning companies, with provincial branches submitting reports.
The Kuwait Municipality will reintroduce the cleaning companies’ classification brochure early next week to allow more Gulf and local companies to participate in tenders for new hygiene contracts, Al-Rai newspaper reported.
An informed source indicated that the municipality is awaiting approval from the Ministry of Finance to allocate a budget for the new contracts, adding that Meshaal Al-Azmi, the Deputy Director General of the Municipality for the Services Sector, is closely monitoring the work of cleaning companies on a daily basis during the current extension period, with the relevant departments in the provincial branches submitting daily performance reports for each company.
The source also stated that any company in default will face financial fines, a procedure that has been in place since the signing of the existing contracts, noting that the nature of violations varies between cleaning companies, and the law is applied equally to all without exception.
