Kuwait Municipality cracks down on illegal bachelor housing in Farwaniya

In an effort to uphold residential zoning laws, the Kuwait Municipality’s Public Relations Department announced that a field inspection campaign in Farwaniya Governorate resulted in regulatory action against multiple bachelor housing violations.
According to the statement, the Engineering Audit and Follow-up Department conducted surprise inspections across several areas where unauthorized housing was suspected, reports Al-Jarida daily.
As a result, electricity was cut off to seven properties that were found to be illegally accommodating bachelors, violating municipal regulations and Law No. 125 of 1992.
The law, which prohibits bachelor housing in private residential zones, is designed to protect the social and family-oriented character of Kuwait’s neighborhoods.
Inspectors had previously issued warnings to the property owners before enforcing penalties.
