Kuwait Municipality approves 18 sites for spring camps this season
The Committee for the Study and Modernization of Camping Sites, as part of its preparations to complete all preparations for the 2024-2025 spring season, identified 10 sites in Jahra Governorate compared to 8 in Al-Ahmadi Governorate in its meeting on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, The Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality announced that the committee officially approved the authorized sites of establishing spring camps; notably 7 in the north of the country and 7 in the south, which are in addition to 4 in the center, so that a total of 18 camping sites are allowed.
Moreover, it is also decided to reduce the number of allowed sites from 23 sites for the camping season last year, to 18 sites for the new year that begins this mid-November, after the cancellation of 6 sites, including 4 in the south of the country for their proximity to the Arifjan camps where camps are prohibited from camping, in addition to a site near Jawakher Kubd for the lack of approval of the General Authority for Environment, and a site opposite the Laayoune area in Jahra for its proximity to residential areas.
The committee also revealed about the provision of 14 sites dedicated to cooperatives, 8 of which are distributed in the north of the country and 6 in the south to establish central markets for the sale of food and supplies on the land, in addition to entertainment places to serve the owners of spring camps.
In the meantime, it was confirmed to open doors to receive requests from camp owners as of November 15 next month, via the QR link through the official website of Kuwait Municipality.
This is meant to issue temporary licenses after paying the fees of 50 Kuwaiti dinars and the amount of insurance of 100 Kuwaiti dinars through “Knet”.
