Kuwait mourns former Army Chief, Diplomat Lt. Gen. Ali Al-Momen
Kuwait mourns the passing of Lieutenant General Ali Al-Momen, a distinguished military and diplomatic figure whose service left a lasting mark on the nation.
As Chief of the General Staff of the Kuwait Army, Al-Momen played a key role in strengthening the country’s military capabilities and readiness.
He was also recognized for his humanitarian efforts, having led the Humanitarian Operations Center in 2003 to coordinate relief assistance for the Iraqi people following the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime.
In the diplomatic field, Al-Momen became Kuwait’s first ambassador to Iraq after diplomatic relations between the two countries were restored, helping advance bilateral ties and regional cooperation.
His passing marks the loss of a respected national leader who dedicated his career to serving Kuwait in military, humanitarian, and diplomatic capacities.
