Kuwait MoD to acquire 8 “Falaj 3” missile boats from EDGE Group of Dubai
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense has launched a major naval enhancement project involving the procurement of eight “Falaj 3” class missile boats for the Kuwaiti Naval Force.
The contract has been awarded to the UAE-based defense and technology conglomerate EDGE Group, which will oversee the entire project — from design, construction, and testing, to the final delivery of the vessels, reports Al-Jarida daily.
The agreement also includes comprehensive logistical support and in-service assistance.
This strategic initiative represents a significant advancement in the operational capabilities of the Kuwaiti Naval Force.
The new missile boats are expected to bolster combat readiness, strengthen maritime security, and safeguard Kuwait’s vital and strategic maritime interests.
The ceremony was held at the Ministry of Defense headquarters, attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Mishal Al-Sabah. Representing EDGE were Managing Director and CEO Hamad Al Marar, Head of Trade and Mission Support Omar Al Zaabi, and the UAE Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Dr. Matar Al Neyadi.
