Kuwait Ministry of Interior issues safety guidelines amid heavy fog

Kuwait woke up to dense fog today, with visibility dropping to zero in some areas, prompting the Ministry of Interior to urge drivers to exercise extra caution on the roads, especially when heading to work or taking children to school.

The ministry issued a set of guidelines for safe driving in foggy conditions, advising motorists to use fog lights, maintain speeds below the posted limits, keep a safe distance from other vehicles, avoid sudden braking, and use defrosters and windshield wipers as needed.
Authorities also emphasized the importance of avoiding mobile phone use while driving and encouraged the public to monitor weather updates from relevant authorities to stay informed about road and visibility conditions, reports Al-Rai daily.

The warning followed an advisory from the Meteorological Department, which had reported horizontal visibility falling below 1,000 meters, and potentially reaching zero in some areas, highlighting the need for heightened caution on the roads.
