Kuwait mandates GCC flag displays to celebrate national holidays
The Kuwait Municipality is authorized to manage ornamental work in Al-Mubarakiya markets and raise the flags of Gulf Cooperation Council annually for each nation’s National Day.
The Council of Ministers has instructed relevant state authorities to continue raising the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) flags during national holidays, following the established protocol, Al Qabas newspaper reported.
Saleh Al-Mulla, the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, stated in a letter addressed to the municipality, seen by Al-Qabas newspaper, that “The council reviewed, during its meeting on September 17, the letter from the Minister of Municipality, which inquired about the decision authorizing the Kuwait Municipality to oversee the ornamental work in Al-Mubarakiya markets and to raise the flags of GCC countries annually in celebration of each nation’s National Day, while continuing with the previous protocol for raising the flags of brotherly countries.”
