Kuwait launches new projects following early budget approval

Around 39 government institutions are involved in executing the 2024-2025 development plan, with infrastructure projects leading the list — 36 projects worth KD 428 million. Meanwhile, 16 projects aim to enhance private sector participation (KD 72 million), and 19 projects focused on health and community well-being are allocated KD 140 million.

Following the early approval of the 2025-2026 budget — unlike in previous years — ministries have begun launching about 90 new construction projects worth KD 1.7 billion. The timely budget approval allows better adherence to project timelines, avoiding previous delays and cost inflations.
Key sectors include infrastructure, electricity and water expansion, and major developments like the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port and the railway project.

Government institutions must now submit regular progress reports, with core goals including boosting economic growth, increasing non-oil revenues, enhancing private sector roles, and fixing labor market imbalances. Ministries have been instructed to accelerate approvals and implementation procedures.
