Kuwait joins International Pharmaceutical Regulators Program

Membership will significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Kuwait’s pharmaceutical control efforts

The Ministry of Health announced that Kuwait, through the Drug and Medical Products Registration Department of the Drug Control Sector, has joined the International Pharmaceutical Regulators Program (IPRP) — a move that marks a major step in strengthening the country’s global standing in pharmaceutical regulation.

In a statement, the Ministry explained that the IPRP is a global consortium of leading regulatory authorities dedicated to enhancing international collaboration in the oversight and evaluation of advanced pharmaceutical products, including innovative medicines, as well as biological, genetic, and cellular therapies, reports Al-Jarida daily.

Kuwait’s official membership was confirmed during a recent meeting of the program’s administrative committee held in Madrid, Spain.

The Ministry emphasized that this membership will significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Kuwait’s pharmaceutical control efforts and reinforces the country’s commitment to being a responsible and active partner in advancing global health and regulatory systems.
