Kuwait introduces e-billing system for treated water

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy has launched a new initiative in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Works to activate the e-collection of treated water bills.
The move is part of broader efforts to streamline government procedures, enhance efficiency in revenue collection, and advance the country’s digital transformation agenda.
The initiative specifically targets the agricultural use of treated water, with the aim to improve the quality of service by allowing beneficiaries to track and pay their bills electronically through secure and unified platforms.
The system is expected to reduce payment delays, enhance transparency, and promote better integration between government entities managing water resources and financial collections.
Sources told Al-Jarida that the project is aligned with national goals to ensure efficient resource utilization and modernized digital infrastructure.
It is also anticipated to facilitate the settlement of overdue payments, generating additional revenue for the state while improving user experience.
