Kuwait hosts 16th Council of Arab finance ministers

Sheikh Fahad Al-Sabah and Sultan Al Habsi call for modernized strategies and greater cooperation to strengthen Arab economies.

Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah has emphasized on the importance of economic integration and cooperation among Arab countries.

In his opening address during the 16th regular session of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers in Kuwait he highlighted the need for Arab financial institutions to adapt to technological advancements, especially in artificial intelligence, and to strengthen efforts to enhance the business environment, productivity, and competitiveness.

Sheikh Fahad also reiterated Kuwait’s commitment to supporting youth, small enterprises, and technological development, as well as its long-standing role in promoting international development through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.

Omani Finance Minister Sultan Al Habsi stressed the need for Arab countries to enhance coordination and develop flexible financial strategies to address global economic challenges, ensuring sustainable development and economic stability in the region.

The meeting also saw discussions on improving the investment climate, strengthening transparency, and focusing on the financing of projects in underdeveloped countries.
