Kuwait honors Amal Abdullah, Saleh Al-Gharib with Gulf Creatives Award

The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) announced the selection of renowned media figure Amal Abdullah and esteemed literary critic Saleh Al-Gharib as recipients of the Gulf Creatives Award. The award recognizes their exceptional contributions to culture, arts, and media, and their influential roles in enriching both Kuwaiti and Gulf cultural landscapes.
In a press statement, the Council confirmed that Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, who also serves as Chairman of NCCAL, approved the honorees as part of the preparations for the upcoming annual Gulf Creatives celebration, reports Al-Jarida daily.
The honoring ceremony will be held in October 2025, during the 29th meeting of the Ministers of Culture of the GCC countries, hosted this year by the State of Kuwait. The event also coincides with Kuwait’s designation as the Arab Capital of Culture and Media for 2025.
NCCAL emphasized that the award reflects the Council’s commitment to honoring prominent cultural figures who have had a lasting impact on the artistic and media arenas. The Council praised the recipients’ careers, which have strengthened cultural identity, advanced Gulf presence in Arab cultural forums, and highlighted Kuwait’s leading cultural role.
