Kuwait highlights academic cooperation to strengthen human rights efforts
Assistant FM Jawaher Al Sabah calls for sustained coordination to advance international commitments

Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Ibrahim Al Sabah stressed the importance of sustained cooperation with academic institutions to bolster Kuwait’s human rights record.
Chairing a meeting of the national committee with representatives of academic and scientific institutions, she underscored the need for regular consultations to advance Kuwait’s voluntary pledges, particularly within its membership in the United Nations Human Rights Council.
Participants included the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies, Saud Al Nasser Al Sabah Diplomatic Institute, colleges of the Ministries of Defense and Interior, Kuwait University, and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training.
The meeting coincided with Kuwait’s third year of membership in the United Nations Human Rights Council and aimed to follow up on international commitments and promote human dignity in line with Kuwait Vision 2035.
Discussions covered training and capacity building, including updating academic curricula to reflect international developments and align with relevant standards and obligations.
Sheikha Jawaher Al Sabah said the meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by the national committee, in coordination with state bodies, to strengthen institutional alignment and fulfill international commitments.
