Kuwait, GCC Interconnection Authority discuss preparations for Summer 2027
Kuwait’s Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Adel Al-Zamel met on Sunday with representatives of the GCC Interconnection Authority to discuss preparations for the summer of 2027.
In a press statement, the ministry said that the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation and coordination between the ministry and the authority in order to address the anticipated increase in electricity demand during summer in a manner that helps ensure the readiness of power system and bolstering the reliability of electricity supplies.
The meeting further reviewed and followed up on the authority’s requirements for the ministry regarding the safe operation of the GCC electricity interconnection system and the maintenance of stability across the national power grids of member states. This step would help boost the efficiency of the GCC electricity interconnection network and its role in supporting energy security, it stated.
