Kuwait foils major operation to smuggle 1.5 kilograms of heroin

Criminal security officers foiled an attempt to smuggle around 1.5 kilograms of pure heroin into the country. The suspect, linked to an international drug smuggling network operating from an Asian country, was arrested at the air cargo port in coordination with the General Directorate of Customs, according to Al Jarida newspaper.

The Ministry of Interior said in a press statement that “during interrogation, the accused admitted that the drugs belonged to him and his partners outside the country, with the intent to traffic them.”

The ministry noted that the accused and the seized drugs were referred to the Drugs Prosecution for necessary legal procedures.
