Kuwait FM reviews strategic partnership with US State Secretary
Visiting Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah met Thursday with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during an official visit to the US.
The meeting reviewed the firm strategic partnership between the two friendly states and the deep-rooted historical ties between the two peoples, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
Both sides affirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation and coordination across various fields, mainly politics, defense, investment, and culture, it added. Building upon their deep-rooted relations, the two ministers agreed to broaden horizons and push for new opportunities to advance their shared interests, it noted.
The meeting witnessed the condemnation of the repetitive brutal Iranian attacks against Kuwait and the assertion of Kuwait’s full right to all required measures it takes to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The two ministers underscored the importance of continuing Kuwait-US coordination at various levels in light of the evolving regional circumstances.
In addition, they stressed the need to address current challenges, respond to rapidly developing events and strengthen efforts to promote regional security and stability in the interests of the two friendly countries as well as safeguard the region’s security and prosperity, the release concluded. – Kuna
