Kuwait Fire Services contain Shuwaikh Industrial warehouse blaze
Fire engines from seven fire centers contain the blaze in just 20 minutes

Today, (Tuesday) afternoon, the Kuwait Fire Services said a significant fire, which erupted in a basement storage room in the Shuwaikh Industrial Area, was brought under control by seven firefighting teams — with no major injuries sustained.
Shortly after receiving the emergency alert, units from the Shuwaikh Industrial, Al Shaheed, Al Ardiya, Mishref, Al Shadadiya, Al Madinah, and Fire Services Support Centers mobilized to the site.
Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke seeping from the warehouse’s lower level.
Coordinating under a unified command structure, firefighters deployed hose lines and ventilation fans to both suppress flames and clear toxic fumes, ensuring rapid entry into the confined space.
Through methodical approach, the teams managed to isolate the source of the fire within 20 minutes of their arrival, preventing the blaze from spreading to adjacent storage rooms.
Specialized thermal imaging cameras helped crews pinpoint hotspots behind stacked pallets, allowing for targeted water application and avoiding damage to unaffected areas.
The entire operation was overseen by Brigadier Omar Hamad, Deputy Chief of the Fire Service for the Firefighting Sector, who maintained real time communication with on scene commanders and coordinated additional support resources.
By late afternoon, the fire was declared fully extinguished, and all units were demobilized after a thorough inspection to confirm there were no embers.
Authorities are now investigating the cause of the blaze and assessing property damage, while affirming their commitment to maintaining rigorous safety standards across Kuwait’s industrial zones.
