Kuwait Fire Force urges parents, guardians not to ‘leave children alone’
The call aims to ensure children's safety and prevent accidents resulting from negligence or lack of supervision

The Kuwait Fire Force has issued a public appeal to citizens and residents, urging them to exercise caution and avoid leaving children unattended at sea or in swimming pools, especially during the summer season. The call aims to ensure children’s safety and prevent accidents resulting from negligence or lack of supervision.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Friday, Director of the Public Relations and Media Department at the Kuwait Fire Force, Brigadier General Mohammad Al-Gharib, emphasized the importance of adhering to preventive measures. He stressed the need to directly supervise children, provide safety gear such as life jackets, and never leave them alone near water — even for a brief moment.
Brigadier General Al-Gharib pointed out that drowning accidents are among the most common and tragic incidents during the summer, frequently occurring at the sea, swimming pools, farms, and private rest houses (including barns and chalets).
“Children can drown silently and in less than a minute, even if they know how to swim,” he warned, highlighting the dangers of unsupervised play around water. He added that reckless behavior, such as running near pools, jumping into deep water, or attempting dangerous stunts, can lead to serious injuries or fatalities.
He stressed that raising public awareness and strictly following safety guidelines are essential to preventing such “unfortunate incidents.” Al-Gharib reaffirmed the Fire Force’s commitment to promoting a culture of safety and protecting lives through continuous public awareness campaigns.
The Kuwait Fire Force urges the public not to hesitate to call the emergency number (112) in case of any incident or need for immediate assistance.
