Kuwait enhances school safety with 287 patrols, 270 cameras

The Ministry of Interior is actively working on an ambitious plan to alleviate traffic congestion and improve road safety, especially at intersections, exits, entrances, and school areas.

  • Colonel Fahd Al-Issa, Director of the Traffic Awareness Department at the Ministry of Interior, revealed that a large number of traffic patrols will be stationed at schools to ensure security and help students reach their schools safely.

As the 2024/2025 academic year begins, the Ministry of Interior has unveiled its new traffic plan to manage congestion, particularly around school zones and routes leading to educational institutions, in response to the return of teachers and students, reports Al Jarida newspaper.

Colonel Fahd Al-Issa, Director of the Traffic Awareness Department at the Ministry of Interior, announced that the ministry will support the new academic year with 287 security measures, including 260 traffic patrols and 27 motorcycles. These resources will monitor road entrances, exits, and school zones, with continuous oversight from the central control room, which is equipped with over 270 cameras and monitoring screens.

This setup aims to manage traffic jams, high-density areas, and accidents, ensuring that patrols are promptly dispatched to address issues and maintain smooth traffic flow.

Al-Issa added that the General Directorate of Traffic, in collaboration with the Public Security Sector, is actively working on an ambitious plan to alleviate traffic congestion and improve road safety, especially at intersections, exits, entrances, and school areas.

He revealed that a large number of traffic patrols will be stationed at schools to ensure security and help students reach their schools safely.
