Kuwait electricity, water systems stable, under control

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy affirmed Sunday that Kuwait’s electricity and water systems remain stable and under control, despite damage to parts of the power grid caused by shrapnel from air defense interception operations.

This cane during a media briefing on current developments by Ministry spokesperson Engineer Fatima Hayat, held in light of the ongoing Iranian aggression against the State of Kuwait.

Hayat stated that seven overhead power transmission lines in various areas were recently damaged by shrapnel. Four lines were repaired and restored within 24 hours in coordination with security authorities, while two additional lines were fixed the following day.

She added that the total number of affected overhead transmission lines has reached 22,of which 20 have been repaired. Work is ongoing to complete maintenance on the remaining two lines.

Hayat also noted damage to a fuel tank at Subiya Power and Water Distillation Plant, which occurred in recent weeks. Specialized technical teams are currently carrying out repairs, adding that restoration will take longer due to the extent of the damage.

She stressed the ministry’s commitment to transparency and continuous communication with citizens and residents through official channels to provide accurate information, urging the public to follow verified accounts and disregard rumors.

Hayat emphasized that conserving electricity and water is a shared responsibility that supports system sustainability and helps maintain reliable services across the country. She expressed appreciation to ministry personnel working around the clock with professionalism to enhance system reliability, and commended close cooperation with
security and relevant authorities, reflecting effective government integration and responseefficiency.

Hayat prayed for Kuwait’s continued security and prosperity under the leadership of HisHighness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
