Kuwait Education Ministry continues online learning until further notice

Kuwait Ministry of Education announced on Wednesday the that studies will resume through the online learning system following Eid Al-Fitr’s holiday, should the current conditions persist.

This came during an expanded meeting chaired by Minister of Education Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabai, attended by senior officials from various sectors and departments of the ministry to follow up on the progress of the educational and administrative process amid the current circumstances and to review developments related to distance learning in the field.

In a statement, the ministry said that this decision comes in a manner that ensures continuity of the educational process under clear and organized frameworks, while monitoring students’ attendance, engagement and commitment to enhance the quality and sustainability of education.

It noted that the meeting reflects the minister’s keenness on strengthening coordination among its sectors and integrating roles between educational leaderships to enhance performance efficiency and ensure the continuity of the educational process at a high level. Minister Al-Tabtabaei stressed the importance of continuous evaluation of educational outcomes and benefiting from field feedback to develop work mechanisms in a way that serves students’ interests and preserves the quality of education, particularly under the current conditions.

He called for carefully studying all educational data and taking appropriate decisions that balance maintaining students’ safety with ensuring the continuity of their academic attainment, thereby achieving overall stability of the educational process.

The minister also emphasized the need to enhance the technical readiness of the online learning system, directing concerned bodies to monitor and address any technical challenges faced by students and teachers while using Microsoft Teams, and to respond immediately through technical support teams in educational zones and the General Directorate of Information Technology to ensure the stability and smooth conduct of virtual classes.

He further instructed administrative and financial sectors to take necessary measures to facilitate transactions, simplify procedures and accelerate completion rates while operating at no more than 30 percent capacity in line with Civil Service Commission decisions, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery within approved legal and administrative frameworks.

In a related context, he underscored the importance of enhancing safety and security measures and raising readiness levels to deal with emergencies, calling for continuous coordination with relevant authorities to ensure preparedness of precautionary plans in accordance with the highest safety standards, verifying the availability of essential supplies in shelters and accommodation centers, and submitting regular reports to concerned authorities to enhance response efficiency and ensure the safety of all within ministry facilities.

He concluded by praying to Allah Almighty to protect Kuwait, its Amir, Crown Prince and people, and to bestow continued security, stability and prosperity upon the country. – KUNA
