Kuwait eases border procedures, offers 7-day transit visas at Abdali crossing

Director of the Abdali border crossing administration, Colonel Waleed Al-Azmi, as per the new instructions issued by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, entry and exit will be issued for Gulf citizens, GCC residents, and Europeans, whether arriving from Iraq or transiting through Iran.

The directives also include easing access for diplomatic personnel and embassy representatives to monitor and assist their nationals at the border, reports Al-Rai daily.

Speaking to Al-Akhbar on Kuwait TV, Colonel Al-Azmi detailed the procedures to assist non-Kuwaiti travelers returning from Iran by land. He noted that Ministry of Interior staff at the Abdali port are working to ensure smooth entry processes through a set of approved exceptions.

One key measure is the issuance of 7-day transit visas, coordinated by the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

These visas apply to certain nationalities and allow entry through Abdali port or the Kuwait International Airport, enabling travelers to finalize their arrangements and depart the country within the specified period.

This initiative reflects Kuwait’s commitment to facilitating humanitarian and logistical support amid regional developments.
